PDO THREADS (MONO)

PDO mono threads are a type of non-surgical cosmetic treatment that involves the insertion of threads made of a biocompatible material called polydioxanone (PDO) under the skin to tighten sagging skin. By rejuvenating the skin, the skin appears revitalised with improved elasticity and reduced fine lines and wrinkles.

After the skin is numbed (topical anaesthetic cream or local anaesthetic blocks), PDO mono threads are carefully inserted into the subcutaneous layer of the skin. The threads create a vectorial network, that acts as a support network for the skin tissue, while stimulating natural collagen production around each individual thread.

Treatment takes around 45 minutes (allow an extra 30 minutes before for topical anaesthetic cream and/or local anaesthetic blocks to take effect).

Results are progressive and full effect make take up to 3 months. Threads are reabsorbed over 3-4 months. Results are long-lasting and can delay the natural ageing process by at least 9-12 months.

• Apply a cold compress gently to the treated area
• Avoid rubbing or putting pressure on the treated area
• Sleep elevated and on your back for 2-3 days
• Paracetamol can be taken if required
• Avoid excessive oil-based make up, AHAs and retinols for 48 hours
• Avoid excessive sun exposure, saunas and sources of heat for 72 hours
• Avoid waxing, IPL, dermabrasion, peels and skin-needling for 2 weeks
